Letter from the EditorDear DesignShare Readers,
I recently read a beautiful quote from Spiro Kostof. “Architecture is a social act and the material theater of human activity.” If only such poetry could be used in earnest to describe most of our children’s school buildings, the world would be a better place. There seem to be no shortage of fabulous ideas for integrating light, color, playfulness and thought-provoking spaces… and yet, there is certainly a shortage of manifestations of such ideas. As always, I wish to open your eyes to some of the gems that have come about from thoughtful architects, as well as the programs around the world that continue to push for more gems.
