Students Talk

An all-school meeting was held with architect Randy Fielding on October 30, 2002. Students were asked what was most important to them in life, and to describe associated spatial characteristics. Selected responses are shown below.

My money, my music, my feelings. More independent study space, so it's not so cluttered, a cozy area for each room, more group rooms, more open rooms with tables for working. Bright colors that provide inspiration. Quiet spaces with dimmer lighting. More books and book shelves.
Layne Bellamy II, monsta_y2g@yahoo.com
Music--it makes the world go round. It's life. Smooth, professional, color blue. Food--I gotta eat! Diverse.

Hip-hop. Should have a graffiti wall, lots of places to chill & plug in headphones. Open spaces. Minimal doors, lots of windows, plenty of places to sit, lots of color.
Hans Erickson, snahster@aol.com

My family, my life, my money. Inside should be colorful and comfortable, with room to move
Mia Rosner, dqchick@blackplanet.com
Reflecting on myself & let my creative thoughts flow. Also kickin' it with close friends. Dark, comfy, but still with recording equipment, definitely inside. Not too hot/cold, enough room to move around; calm. Smooth and black.
Andrew Craig, magic-04@blackplanet.com
Outsdie: chillin with my peepz and/or by myself. New grass and level it out. Fix parking lines. Get the air conditioning and heating checked out.
